Music Industry Paying Close Attention To Vine

After MySpace and YouTube, the gaze of the music industry is turning towards Vine as a place where new stars are recruited. According to an article on BuzzFeed, Vine might be the perfect medium to showcase a person’s ability to grab attention within 6 seconds.

Shawn Mendes, who moved from YouTube to Vine in 2013, quickly gained a 10,000 people strong following. The number grew to 2.5 million in only a couple of months. He was signed by Island Records, and in short time became the youngest artist ever whose first release entered the top 25 of the Billboard Hot 100 list. It all happened in less than a year. And it all began with Vine.
