Although it looks like Facebook might run indefinitely on user-generated content like photos, status updates, and Video on Instagram, the long term prognosis for the social network shows that they will incorporate more professionally-created premium content to keep things fresh and interesting.
Facebook has other websites to learn from. Premium content gave a lot of wind to YouTube’s sails, and LinkedIn’s proprietary content program saw a rise in traffic and engagement. It may sound far fetched, but the question of Facebook’s survival without professional content has a lot more to it.
